Buttock Lift
A buttock lift is a cosmetic surgically procedure to improve the appearance of the buttocks. It may be done as part of a tummy tuck (or belt lipectomy) or lower body lift to contour the buttocks, groin, thighs and abdomen.
A buttock lift alone won't add any volume to the buttocks. But it is possible to combine a buttock lift with an augmentation procedure to alter the shape or size of the buttocks with implants or fat grafts.
During a buttock lift, excess skin and fat are removed from the buttocks. The remaining skin is then repositioned to create a more toned look. An additional Liposuction may be done to further contour the buttock area or thighs to achieve a balanced look.
The post-operational process including recovery and expectable operative consequences varies as well as the process may show differences in general and/or detail from patient to patient.
Generally the incision will likely be covered with surgical dressing and one or more drains are placed under the wound and close to the incision line to drain any excess blood or fluid. They might be left might be left in place for several weeks after surgery even for a time after returning to your home country. How to empty and care for the drains will be shown.
Moderate pain is expectable. 2 to 3 weeks off from work may be necessary depending on the type of job.
For the first months after a buttock lift, you'll need to take care when moving — increasing your activity level slowly — and avoid positions that strain your incision line to prevent the reopening of the wound. Your doctor will provide instructions. In addition, follow-up visits with a doctor in the home country will be needed.
This surgery type typically is performed under general anaesthesia and a 1 night overstay at the hospital is required for monitoring the first hours after the surgery.
You should schedule at least 9 days starting from the day of surgery before returning to your home country.
