EXCIMER LASER TECHNOLOGY : It is a technology based on shaping the corneal layer with a precision of 0.25 microns by using UV (ultraviolet invisible) light with a wavelength of 193 nanometers obtained by the electric stimulation of Argon ve Fluoride gas mixture.

Excimer Laser has been used in the treatment of refractive errors (myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism) as an alternative to eyeglasses and contact lenses for more than 20 years.

Zeiss MEL 80 Excimer laser device is used in our center.

MEL 80 is the first Excimer Laser device which can be connected to Femtosecond Laser device.

WAVE FRONT TECHNOLOGY is the tailor-made laser method by transferring the image created by the light beam sent to the eye by Wasca analyser device in the retina of the person to the Excimer Laser device.Standard laser systems accept the eye as a plane and apply equal energy everwhere.However, eye is not a standard smooth surface and has regional refractive differences due to regional irregularities. Energy reflection occurs because of the slope of the eye depending on its outer side.The laser treatments performed by Wave Front measurements calculate the slope of the eye, compensating the amount of energy reflected.

By this means;

The actual optical zone is provided.

Laser shooting of the regional irregularities is provided, resulting in an approximately excellent optical surface.

This method is preferred in people with large eye pupils and night vision problems as well as in those with light scattering problems following laser.

TOPOLYZER TECHNOLOGY : Performing topographic measures by transferring to the Excimer Laser device results in increased success of laser treatment results in patients with corneal scars and high astigmatism.


Femto is the prefix placed before the units to reduce the value of that unit by 15 folds out of 10.

Second is used as its real meaning.

In the light of this information, Femtosecond states that the second is reduced by 15 folds out of 10.

Femtosecond Laser is the laser with a shot time at the level of femtosecond.Due to the very short time of shot, the heat formed on the laser application point does not permeate into the adjacent cells and is effective on the point of focus. Therefore, the incision obtained by femtosecond laser is extremely smooth.As a characteristic of the infrared wavelength, the permeant femtosecond laser beam in the transparent settings creates bubbles containing carbondioxide and water of 1-3 microns in the transparent anterior layer of the eye, the corneal layer, which ensure tissue resolution resulting in a more sensitive, rapid and safe incision.It provides great advantages over the traditional corneal flap formation.

Visumax Femtosecond Laser device is used in our center.

Visumax Femtosecond device was connected to MEL 80 Excimer Laser device for the first time in our center in Turkey to perform combined treatment.


Femtosecond Laser technology is the candidate to substitute for the Excimer Laser technology.

Femtosecond Laser provides excellent corneal flap formation as well as offers the treatment of refractive errors (myopia, hypermetropia, and astigmatism) by lenticular extraction of the corneal stroma.
